Let me start by saying this spot is gorgeous. Especially at dawn and dusk. The lobby, common room and dining area are beautiful as well. Six years ago I attended a wedding and it was amazing. I stayed across the street 6 years ago in a 2 bedroom room and it was clean and well maintained. This stay was in the West building. The room was clean but not well maintained. There was paint on the bathroom fixtures, there were small holes in the walls. Paint was peeling in places. I loved having the bar available all day. Having the waiters come around the beach area was really convenient too. The s’mores and small fire for the kids were great.
Stayed here for a wedding! We had a wonderful time and it was so great that the rooms were right next to the venue. It felt like we had our own little community there. The entire property was beautiful and right on the lake! It was a bonus to have a grocery store and liquor store right across the street.
This was a perfect getaway spot! We stayed on the lakefront. Beautiful views, excellent food and drink, and first class service. The rooms were newly renovated, and plenty of hot water for showers. We enjoyed the plentiful breakfast buffet, with Chef K and her wonderful family taking care of our every request. Check out the dockside bar too! Yummy drinks and tasty offerings!
Great all season resort on the Paugus Bay section of lake Winnipesaukee! Rooms are modern and super clean! AC and Heat both work very well! Friendly and helpful staff. I will stay here every chance I get.
Fantastic place to spend a few days enjoying the beautiful lake. The beach bar and restaurant is awesome and no issue finding chairs. We also enjoyed the sauna and all the great spaces in the lobby to hang out. Will definitely be returning next year.
We had a great stay. The rooms were clean, updated and the beds very comfortable. All the staff we encountered were friendly, courteous and responsive to our needs. The amenities were as described, the breakfast was plentiful with many options. We enjoyed food and drinks at the Gazebo Beach Bar, located on their dock, while watching the sunset. Very family friendly resort, as well as an enjoyable place for older adults. Location is very convenient for sightseeing and shopping. We would definitely stay here again.
From check in to check out I was at ease and relaxed. Upon entering our lakeside room and enjoying the outdoor accommodations the views continuously impress you as the back drop of the mountains and lake reflection change through out the day. Rooms are up to date and clean. It os easy access to local shopping but when you are on the property you feel tucked away in the serenity of New Hampshire.
The Margate is our happy place. Walking out of your room right on to the beach is phenomenal. The beach is spacious and well groomed. The hut has great drinks and good food which can be delivered right to you on your lounger. The updated lakeside building adds a bit of sophistication which was lacking in its previous iteration. The staff are all friendly and helpful. We love the location- stores and restaurants nearby but when you’re on the beach, you wouldn’t know it. We will return again and again.
